Entrance Progress

Mother Nature slowed work on the entrance this past week. However, we did manage to get the exit lane poured. Also, we hope you enjoyed the briefly lighted sign last week. Now, however, the lights will remain off for a few days as the electrician finalizes the electric work and ties everything into the system. The entrance is on schedule to finish next week (weather permitting). 

This is a final warning - please update Virtual Guard if you have made changes to your vehicles. Once the security system is activated next week, you will be required to enter through the Visitors Lane if your vehicle information is not in their database or is out of date.

Although work on our entrance was delayed a bit this week due to weather, progress was made. Specifically, 

• The camera system was installed and activated. 
• Work on the pillars was completed, including the capstones on each pillar. 
• Electrical work progressed considerably.  
• Several light fixtures were attached to the pillars.
• The gate controller units were installed. 
• The Virtual Guard system was reinstalled, though not yet activated.

The big news is our sign has been lit up. It looks fantastic. Be sure to make an after-dark drive by to see it lit up.

What's next? The concrete pad for the exit lane will be poured early next week, followed soon thereafter by landscaping of the beds and installation of the entrance/exit gates. Our goal is to have the project ready for opening by the end of this coming week.

A few last comments - a) please be sure your information on file with Virtual Guard is up-to-date and correct (for instructions on how to do this, see the Security/Handbook menu option on this website) and b) please continue to drive slowly and safely as workers continue their efforts.

04-12-2024

The final stages have begun. Have you seen the new signage?  The old pavement in the exit lane has been removed, and the electric lines under that lane have been finished in preparation for the concrete pour. On Monday, the electricity should be turned on to our new entrance. Next week, Virtual Guard will arrive to add/reactivate our camera system and finish work will begin. There are many workers at the entrance so please slow down and use caution as you enter and exit the community.

The entrance has officially switched back to a two lane entry and exit while we finish the exit lane and final touches. Please enter through the resident lane and exit through the visitor lane. Masonry work is completed on the pillars, with the exception of the top caps, which will be placed all at the same time. Please continue to enter and exit slowly, as workers are and will be present.

The masonry work was delayed due to the cold and rainy weather that arrived this past week. This has pushed back the flip of the lanes until next week as the masonry work gets completed. Virtual guard is scheduled to be reinstalled and activated once again very soon. Please ensure your information for the Virtual Guard database is up to date. All previous entries in their database remain active.









03-22-2024

Masonry work is now officially underway. The right-most front pillar shown in the photo below has its stone facade. The masonry workers will continue working, weather permitting, on Saturday of this week and we should see continued progress. Next week we will open the new entrance lanes and close off the current exit lane so that side can be completed. Please continue to use caution as this project continues. More information will come as we near our completion date.

The concrete bed for the current construction phase drive was poured today. Driving on this new bed cannot occur, however, for 1-2 weeks as the relatively thick slab cures. Over the past couple of weeks, the electrician worked on wiring and placing items underground. Masonry work will continue over the next two weeks. The project remains on schedule. Please continue to use care when entering/exiting.

The interior pillar work is complete, the electric and curb work is progressing. Please remember to use caution as you enter and exit the subdivision.

Pillars are being constructed. With the warmer weather, progress has resumed. The guard will be leaving beginning on Sunday this week. The entrance and exit lane will utilize stop signs to control traffic. Please be courteous to your neighbors.

The guard shack is no more.  It was stripped of anything worthwhile on 11-17-23, punched over, and loaded onto the trailer to head to its final home.  Thanks to John Kane and Bud and Trey for the use of the Kubota which helped make it all possible.  These pics show the "progress".  The project has started.  There is a guard on site throughout the day directing traffic and checking who is going into the community.  We remind all that the entry and exit currently are the old exit lane.  Please be very careful.
